Primanti Montessori School was establish in 1965 by Hank & Millie Primanti. The school is now a prominent and well respct Montessori that has been serving the community for over 50 years.
Our primary aim is to assist in the total development of a child’s personality (social, emotional, intellectual, and physical), so that the child will be better prepared to adapt to life and to adjust to the changing conditions of their environment.
Classes and Programs year Round
Our 3rd to 8th grade students take the “California Test Of Basic Skills” exam and we are proud to share that are students well outperformed the national average in the subject areas tested.
Our Middle School children are accepted to the best High Schools after graduation, and from there they frequently are accepted to some of the top colleges in the country. It is with great pride that we have some graduates that are presented with the “Excellence in Education”award, which is signed by the President of the United States.
What our teachers have to say
”My Experience As A Montessori Teacher” “Education should no longer be mostly imparting knowledge but must take a new path seeking the release of human potential”-Maria Montessori.
Montessori education, especially in the early years, provides a strong and significant foundation to prepare them later in life. As a teacher, I am amazed at how much the students improve academically with the use of the Montessori prepared environment scientifically proven materials that maximize students’ independent learning and exploration. My kindergarten students are reading 3 years above their grade level with the help of materials that not only help the students read but also understand what they are reading.
Children learn cursive easily at a very young age with the use of Sandpaper Cursive Letters and a Cursive Moveable Alphabet. The Stamp Game material and Long Bead Frame helps the students become strong in math, learning the concepts of the four basic operations.
We not only encourage students to continue to improve but also help them develop a joy for learning. I am privileged to witness the metamorphosis of each child growing from a young cocoon to a butterfly.

In our Montessori classroom, the approach is to first allow your child to experience the excitement of learning and second, to help guide them to perfecting their natural tools and curiosity for learning. When your child first arrives in the environment, I assess their capabilities, observe their individual interests and needs, then demonstrate the appropriate materials for their development. The children work individually and have the freedom to work at their own pace. Some may continue on a level for long periods of time and some may advance quickly through the materials. All areas of the environment accommodate many levels of ability. The children are constantly challenged by the wide variety of materials and their many uses.
My goal is for your child to fulfill their potential and to become a happy, inquisitive, and independent child.

Our Primary class has a mixed-age group, ranging from our adorable 2 and half year olds to our inquisitive 3 year olds and our independent 4 and 5 year olds. Our children learn to help each other and be helped by other children, mentoring each other in the process. They appreciate the achievements and accomplishments they have done and they are challenged by the achievements of others.
The children stay with us for at least 3 years which allows them to build their own learning experiences progressively every year. Their daily activities are filled with practical lessons that are applicable in real life. The children learn to prepare their own snacks, clean their tables, and sweep the floor when they are done. They also work with sensorial materials to educate them with visual, auditory, and tactile experiences.
To introduce them to language, our students play vocabulary and sound games. They continue to learn sounds and symbols, which are important skills for learning to read and write. They are also introduced to numbers and the decimal system. They learn about parts of plants and animals, geometric figures, land and water forms, continents, and the countries around the world—which they learn at their own pace. Children also engage in singing and dancing for group activities.
During their last year with us, everything comes together. The years of experiences they had in our early childhood programs have prepared them to be well rounded individuals who can work independently. They are now ready to face the new challenges of Kindergarten since they have strong academic skills and have the natural love for learning.
“The children are now working as if I did not exist.”
